Saturday, March 3rd ~ 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Afternoon Tea at the David Davis Mansion ~ $25.00 (David Davis Mansion, 1000 E. Monroe Dr., Bloomington IL 61701) "A Wee Bit O' the Irish Tea" ~ The Irish Servants of the Mansion Join us for a cupan te (cup of tea) and lovely tea time treats. Then enjoy our program about the Irish in America and what it was like to be “in service” in an upper class Victorian home in the late 19th century. Learn what the servants did on a daily basis to keep a big house running smoothly, how they spent their personal time, and upheld their Irish traditions. Includes a tour of the mansion, including the servants' quarters. Saturday, April 14th and Sunday, April 15th ~ 1:00-3:00 p.m. Afternoon Tea at the Vrooman Mansion ~ $28.00 (Vrooman Mansion, 701 E. Taylor St., Bloomington IL 61701) "Titanic Tea" ~ Honoring the 100th Anniversary 1912-2012 Step back in time to 1912, the year of the maiden voyage of the Titanic. The First Class passengers in Le Café Parisien certainly enjoyed the best of afternoon tea! Now you can experience a similar elegant tea time at the beautiful Vrooman Mansion. Then learn little known facts about some of the passengers on the Titanic. Third class immigrants, second class travelers and first class elegant Edwardians such as Lady Astor and Mrs. JM (Molly) Brown were on board this "ship of dreams". Join us as we embark on the most fascinating voyage of an era! Saturday, May 12th & Sunday May 13th, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Afternoon Tea at the David Davis Mansion ~ $25.00 "Mother's Day Victorian Garden Party Tea" Enjoy an elegant Mother's Day tea time in the Davis Mansion's formal parlor, then let us tell you about the luxuriant Victorian garden where beauty and tranquility blooms. Learn about the rare heirloom garden at the David Davis Mansion and Sara Davis’s love for her garden. Guests may tour the garden following the program (weather permitting).
